There’s no free lunch. If you want to stack sats, over a long enough time horizon, all methods that don’t involve work will prove themselves to be scams/risks/etc.
Provide value and receive value. This is virtuous. All other methods of accrual are fleeting at best.
Their business case relies mostly on an item that is out of their control: debit card transaction fees. So it’s hard.
I will still take 0.5% on any transaction and hopefully some bills. Any sat I get back is infinitely more valuable than getting 1% - 2% back in fiat with a credit card.
Yeah, I totally understand that their business model is something that they can’t control.
The thing is that I can get 1% with my Gemini card (if not more). Fold dropping most rewards down to 0.5% renders their card worthless in many more situations than before.
Right now, I’m incentivized to restrict yet again its usage. I’ve been restricting its usage for a year. If this keeps going this way pretty soon usage will be a big old zero.
I’ll have to look at the Gemini card. Are you happy with them?
A lot happier than with Fold, that’s for sure.
The only surprise I had with them was that they stopped waiving transaction fees when withdrawing (fair enough, I guess).
It’s a credit card, though. Maybe that’s what’s making a difference here.
