I need to get back into my cinema mode. John Carpenter and Ridley Scott movies are the shit for me 🤌
Love Ridley. John has a few bangers but overall underwhelming imo
It takes a special kind of SciFi mind to get that consistent stuff 🤌
I feel like Ridley gets corporatism and the sort of fatal conceit that drives a lot of bad stuff. Whereas John Carpenter was just afraid of Ronald Reagan and was philosophically illiterate lol
I looked briefly at Ridley’s filmography after we spoke earlier, he goes into many directions (comedy, sci fi, romance). Maybe I’ll stick to sci fi first. John’s filmography was quite long. And I think I even skipped one
I need to check more of those movies out, all genres! Date night with the gf maybe 🤙
My main thing I love is just the Alien movies, that shit is peak entertainment when I'm in a mood to be scared shitless, or to watch something immersive with androids and funky tech in it. Got to get my robot fix.
Alien movies are the best. I didn’t have much expectations going into Prometheus and covenant. But those two are masterpieces. Deep philosophical too
Yeah definitely a lot going on there. I didn't enjoy them as much as I had hoped when I originally saw them, but they grew on me as I rewatched them! I love the most recent one too, Romulus.

The aliens are really cool. I don’t get why they chose such a young cast
It allowed for a different kind of story. Gave off classic slasher vibes due to the young cast. I loved it. They didn't go overboard with muh representation, it all made sense to me. I really enjoyed the dynamic with the android Andy and the main girl.
