Nice! Are your pawpaw patches all one tree with a whole bunch of suckers, like they tend to be? I hope you get a good harvest this year.

Thank you & I have a few wild patches on family land. They’re native to floodplains here in SC.

We probably have at least an acre of papaws. I went in & cleared most of the surrounding sweetgums for more light

I’ve got a patch in the woods on my property but I haven’t cleared out any overstory trees yet. I did plant a bunch of seedlings around the patch to try to get some genetically pollinizers to increase fruit production. Patches are often genetically one tree.
