On web, at least, when the OAuth screen pops up where you'd normally put in your password, on Ditto you'd see a request to sign in with a Nostr bunker instead (which is what you could use nak for). But I have no idea how this translates on emacs 😬

Yes, I had already seen it when I tried to use the "moshidon" client, but with mastodon.el no pop ups appear and there is not even the possibility of inserting variables via minibuffer. Maybe I'll try asking on https://codeberg.org/martianh/mastodon.el

first of all you have to set "mastodon-active-user" & "mastodon-instance-url" variables

when you start mastodon.el for the first time you have an "Authorization Code:" request on minibuffer and there you have to put your npub (read) or nsec (read & write) key; then it connects to your #ditto "instance"
