The power and energy of unfiltered voices and ideas is what inspires the participants of this protocol. There is no middleman. There is no one siphoning off our energy and selling it. This is the closest thing I’ve experienced to sitting around a fire, laughing, debating, singing, and dancing. It’s a direct exchange of our stories which have been stolen without our knowing.
And its not only twitter, its all the centralised social media.
I just tried listen in on Nostr Nests recently and its so much cooler that we can built out this infrastructure that is not beholden to the big tech and advertisers.
The Fediverse was around long before nostr ... but honestly Usenet will outlast them both.
Trusted third parties are security holes.
