indeed, the games could be operated by custom events with chess language notations as chains of replies in accordance with the chess rules (which does include sometimes one player having two moves in a row in some cases) so it would also require integration of a chess engine

You don’t HAVE to make nostr part of the game.

It could be just a classical chess website. Keep the engine as is.

Nostr login.

Once a players makes a move, and nostr event gets broadcasted.

Even if the broadcast failed, the game will still run on its engine.

And streaming.

Done.
