Hardcore fan, but I haven't had time for Alien: Earth yet. I've heard the SFX are cinema quality. That the story line is very good.
I just don't have time to spend on it right now.
When you get a chance, let me know what you thought of it after you watch it. I’m curious to hear your opinion.
The world building is good. The concept is good. The execution is mediocre.
It has a few cons, but also some fresh pros. It’s good television.
Not sure why they had to end each episode with their favorite rock song... Lame. There are a few plot holes here and there but not too bad. Same with continuity errors. Acting was pretty good actually. The script was the worst part I think. Cyborgs motivations make little to no sense in my opinion. And there were a few too many times the audience was just told through the script directly what was happening.
If I could watch it and make notes I could do a really good write up.
I am a Hardcore Ridley Scott Fan. Alien. Prometheus. Covenant. Those are the story lines to follow. The rest is filler/action/horror
Not to say aliens Or Romulus weren't good. They're fun and pretty decent in their own right but I look at the Ridley Scott line as more of a philosophical piece that has horror scifi elements. Where as Aliens is a good Action Film. And Romulus is a good horror scifi film. Well. Romulus is a... Fun scifi horror film. Lots of stupid stuff in that script though.
RS is the man. In no particular order, my list:
American Gangster, Gladiator, Blackhawk Down, Matchstick Men, Blade Runner and Body of Lies
All epically good.
Not many people I talked to actually like Body of Lies, but I do a lot (great acting) - nice to see it mentioned here ✌🏻
I hear you, and I appreciate the attempt of philosophy too, but I don‘t think it was delivered properly.
Every time I watch Prometheus/Covenant I feel like I should know something that in fact wasn‘t said.
It might be part of the mystery, and I do like the movies.
But I must say, as a worshipper of the first two films, I was happy when Romulus brought back the good old bloodbath..
Another view - Prometheus/Covenant tried to explain things, but to me, a huge part of the Alien horror magic is the unknown - it‘s a brutal agressive fucking lifeform from deep space, period.
One of my personal cons of the Earth was that it‘s even possible to somehow communicate with it - NO! 😁
But of course I‘m not saying this is the right view, it‘s a good thing that this series offers different takes for different kinds of audience.
you've just reminded me the best FPS i've ever played
alien gameplay of crawling walls and biting marines heads of was sick af
Dude, and the heart attacks when playing as marine... 🤦🏻♂️
