Iβve thought about this idea a bit. Weβre working on away to allow someone to zap a round of drinks to the bar from anywhere. It could definitely be done with prepaid food orders, too. The question is, would anyone actually do this?
Pay Forward is a charitable act adopted by restaurants and coffee shops whereby when a customer pays for their meal or drink, they can offer to pay for a future meal as well. Then if somebody comes in that is struggling financially, they can order a meal or drink that is already paid for.
Imagine combining the concept of "pay forward" with the remote payment options of BTC / Lightning?
A shop could post a Lightning invoice on social media (even the legacy kind) and get assistance from the global community.
If we had a Bitcoin marketing department, this would go down like wildfire!

Not me. There's a pandemic so even if you set it up to use dogecoin or something I actually use I wouldn't want to support people drinking at a bar. Also you would probably use Lightning or some other wack shit I don't even want to use
You are not the target demographic.
You could be surprised.
My target demographic was Digit with every post I made on reddit for years leading up to meeting her, but then I thought she was just some random fool and it took me months to realize her importance.
Maybe you actually need my money and advice as badly as I need Digit to be safe, and everyone else just takes even longer than me to realize who's who.
I would totally do this!
In struggling communities the traditional system is supported very well.
If it was a simple to implement FOSS project, then it has a chance to become adopted, especially in the developing world.
I would do this if it was two things, first making it easily available to do so, second giving a reward of like text to voice saying amount and message. The other side is probably more fun and let the anins run a jukebox for pulley for certain days for sats.
