Why, just because they want every encrypted email to flow through their own servers? That can't go wrong...

imagine dont consent imap/smtp for not paying users to uncentivize crap vendor-specific mail-apps or not permit a login page that works without that webassembly-heavy-things happen on your device or being so fiat with your communication with the "switzerland privacy" when you could have been just honest saying "we, our employs, the government, and other governments can see your mail by design (crappy pgp integration probably backdoored doesnt fix this) and we can see your ip (also with a crappy android client that makes backgroud connections to the server even if you explicitely told him to "shut up notifications I will eventually pull my email when I will remember to do it").
