The deity of the Hebrew Bible (Yahweh) is inconsistent with the Father (God) revealed through Jesus. Yahweh is jealous, wrathful, and incompatible with Jesus' teachings.

This is a common gnostic belief which many fundamentalist Christians don't want to consider, but I have thought of it many times since I first heard it and I tend to agree.

Little do they know that it was common place in Early Christianity to have this stance. The Marcionite Church was the largest and fastest growing at the time - which is why it was attacked and smeared. https://pre-nicene.org/

Thanks for this information. I'll read up on it. Any books you'd recommend?

If you visit my site in bio you'll see my recommended reading list.

Some to highlight;

- The Evil Creator: Origins of an Early Christian Idea

- The Enigma about Divine Love and the Creation of Evil: The Lost Belief Among Early Christians about a God of Total Compassion

- The First New Testament: Marcion's Scriptural Canon

Thanks I will definitely take a look. I've been reading books about the desert fathers that remind me of those titles.
