Wouldn’t a social graph solve these issues?

You see content from people you follow and the people they follow.

If you don’t like something, click to see which connection it’s coming from and unfollow.

Global doesn’t even need to exist in a sense that anyone can see everything there is to see. Make people follow a few people in on onboarding - I believe that is what Twitter did. Probably to solve the same problem?
