Learning about LoRa and Meshtastic on the Survival podcast and this stuff is so up my alley.

Need to buy one ASAP. I’m also really interested in using it for remote sensors vs just chat comms.

yeah, sensor arrays is such a useful use case

a sensor that detects jammers would be a good sensor to have as well, and some protocol for channel changing beyond the usual spread spectrum

I have a question for you, I know you are real, but is this you posting? Haha

yes, definitely me...

busy debugging my relay's privileged events access atm

idk even what a jammer detector even means but it should exist

I just got my pair setup properly again this morning. The Heltec Lora v3 is pretty cheap and I've gotten a 4 mile connection between them. I'm looking at more so I can setup one on a sensor for my packages box to alert when something has arrived and one as a base node.

That is cool, let me know how it goes hooking sensors to it.

I previously played with a LoRa co2 sensor from seeedstudio, which afaict required the use of a proprietary base station software called “The Things Network”.

In my limited testing I could go across my hilly neighborhood and it worked and I was impressed, but the software stack felt difficult to do anything with. I hope meshtastic is better.
