Smart Vaults says that they "use" nostr, but they ask you to sign-up on their wait-list with an email address and follow them on X. ๐Ÿšฉ ๐Ÿšฉ ๐Ÿšฉ ๐Ÿšฉ ๐Ÿšฉ ๐Ÿšฉ ๐Ÿšฉ ๐Ÿšฉ ๐Ÿšฉ ๐Ÿšฉ

sus definitely

Purple washing?

well.. it's interesting to say that their product uses nostr, but they themselves don't use nostr. they don't use nostr waistlisting like other nostr entities to and they don't even list that they have an npub.

they don't list source code either, so that's another red flag.

Smart Vault uses Coinstr? Cool!

Yes, and built by the same team. We only recently renamed it to โ€œSmart Vaultsโ€ because โ€œCoinstrโ€ was too niche and hard to spell.

Why do you think?

I meant โ€œwhat do you think?โ€ (Of the name)

It is a good name.

The rebrand is what threw me off then. I'm glad that you're using Nostr and have a GitHub repository. ๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿป Thank you for correcting me. I will follow the project as soon as it has an npub!

Better name, think the everythingstr era has passed!

The people building it (us) do use nostr. I will create an npub for Smart Vaults specifically. Good call. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

We have been building on Nostr for many months now. The signature requests and PSBTs are encrypted and orchestrated over Nostr.

It is open source: https://github.com/coinstr

Smart vaults npub and video showing creating of a social recovery vault:

Very cool. Thank you.

It seems logical to me that if they are starting with nostr, they still don't have some things internalized.

For sure they will be on their way.

In my opinion, criticizing will not attract people to nostr ๐Ÿ™‚

(Don't take it badly please, it's just an opinion, I don't know them at all either, but it seemed logical to me that if they have just landed they still have some "centralized" vices)

"Self-custody complexity" is 100% bullshit ๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ
