Jreg the insane guy on YouTube is my actual answer that's not a joke answer
Marx is probably the answer I'd give if I wanted to not sound like a joke answer, but Jreg is the real answer, I love him
Actually Marx and Nietschie are equally misunderstood I think.
I think they were both trying to explain the political times they lived it
It isn't really fair that we treated them as ideals for living.
I don't think either of them claimed guru status.
To your point, I think most philosophers often live their days misunderstood... even in modern times! That's why discussions like these are crucial... feedback loops so I appreciate you contributing :)
For real, it's so lucky for us to be here on nostr. Any of our favorite philosophers would have had the perfect home here
life's meeting.
I prefer real meeting and exchange than dead people even if they were wise.
Irl is definitely best. My best years were when my friends and I lived communal and we had philosophy nights where we would use our dining room table as a stage a deliver/deliver our personal philosophical manifestos
I very much so miss those days
I had a similar experience, and i feel lucky to have meet so much people that have make me grow.
And it is really not a question of how old you are.
Old only allow you to have more experience.
But some young can be very wise too.
Don't miss them so much, you live another interesting moment, now 😉
Spinoza is interesting
I'd like to believe Spinoza, that you can understand reality, but I suspect wittgenstein was closer to the truth in his early days when he argued that you couldn't use language to explain reality.
This has sometimes been translated as him saying as philosophy is bunk, but I don't think that's quite fair.
But back to the question and my answer would be wittgenstein.
Wittgenstein is way underappreciated IMO!

Oooh nice play! Modern day satire and absurdism ftw!
Thanks everyone for your contributions so far! Great feedback loops happening with real people here on nostr... love it
Lao Tse
I'm not well read on the topic, but Diogenes was an interesting character that pushed back hard on the system.
