I tried some at a little hole-in-the-wall ice cream shop when I was traveling a few years ago. It was awesome.

Basil ice cream mix(?) batter(?) custard(?) 
I severely overestimated the power of my little blender to puree leaves. I have to decide of I want to leave all the basil bits or strain them out. Either way, I have time. It has to chill overnight.
