What's a simple #bitcoin on chain wallet for some one brand new taking their sats off an exchange for the first time. Something on a phone app that is easy to set up but still has private keys?

I'm thinking the Blockstream Green wallet with a Blockstream Jade hardware wallet is a solid choice. You can go phone app only wallet, but its really worth it to take one more step up since the Jade is not super pricey.
Does block stream green wallet work in Nostr to receive and send zaps?
If you're talking about small amounts where you don't want a hardware wallet yet, I still like original Android wallet by "schildbach" from way back in the day. Probably the first self-custody wallet I ever used
I use Cake Wallet. You can easily swap BTC for XMR and vice versa.
That's awesome. I have cake wallet also and my momero isn't showing up. Any tips?
I don’t. I keep my Monero long term in GUI wallet locked down with a hardware wallet.
If it says blocks remaining does that mean it's still syncing. Maybe I just need to wait longer. It's been weeks though.
Are you running a node/mining?
I am mining on my laptop. Very small amount. Made my first payout sent to my cake wallet a while back.
Ah, if you are doing that, your balance won’t update. I don’t know why. But, you can see up a view only wallet. I stop mining it because it’s not at all profitable. But, I kept a little bit because it has potential. I’m an XMR whole coiner.
