I was given a Raspberry Pi with a camera, and read, "If you're playing with Raspberry Pi and not using Python, it's like having a race car with no engine.", so I decided to get back into programming by learning Python. It's been a lot of fun. There are some aspects of the language that I find to be odd, but that could be said of any language. Overall, it's made my life better. I'm thinking of ideas I wouldn't have, had I not jumped back into programming.
Do it! A good starting point is the third edition of Python Crash Course by Eric Matthes.
