It is boring, thats for sure.
I try to do everything I can manually now. Take a bicycle when I can get there in a reasonable time instead of the car. Use hand tools like a hand saw over a chainsaw, things like that. First, they'll never not work, they're simpler and less prone to failure, and they're cheaper, but more importantly, if you make the conscious habit of doing as much in your day to day life the manual way as you can instead of seeking comfort and ease, you'll be physically healthier and also I think mentally healthier, because seeking comfort as a paramount goal to me is itself a major instigator of mental unwellness. I don't think it's any coincidence that everyone drives everywhere (and all cars are air conditioned) and is fat at the same time.
