These questions and phrases are not designed to be understood, but rather to bring about an experience of the divine.

For example, "What is the sound of one hand clapping?"

I have been searching for a book on koans, but haven't come across one yet. If anyone has a recommendation please let me know 🤙

As for koan books, I haven't read any, but looking through a telegram channel I'm in, here are a couple:

"The Record of Empty Hall: One Hundred Classic Koans" by Xutang Zhiyu

"The Crow Flies Backwards and Other New Zen Koans" by Ross Bolleter

I started The Record of the Empty Hall. I am nine pages in and have already laughed out loud to the point of tears twice. Thanks for the recommendation. It's exactly what I needed.
