The belief in political solutions springs from the naive hope that the existing power structures can be reformed through policies and voting. But the system is inherently adversarial, predicated on coercion and violence. Its very architecture is antithetical to freedom and justice. Opting out is not a retreat into quietism, but rather an active project to render the old systems obsolete. We must focus our energies on building alternative decentralized networks based on voluntary association and mutual aid. It is through creating the new that the old and corrupt will be made irrelevant. The path forward lies not in politics, but in making politics itself unnecessary.
