If that's the case you won't win that game because anyone could run a bot that looks for ordinals and then mints it on other chains and squatting on reference NFTs

Not that I think NFTs have any claims, but if I magically did believe it, the above would apply

Are people that gullible? Only thing that makes sense is projects trying to net some fees and sell their shitcoin to people, because these inscription miners are falling for anything

Greed makes people really stupid and complexity appeals to stupid people 🤷

Are people that gullible?

Yes. Unfortunately the answer is always yes 😥

Lol sometimes I have far too much faith in people, damn putting my biases on others, stop it

It's more remember right back to when you were like 20 and dumb af. Don't know anything. No experience. It's going to end up with some stupid things happening 🤷

Oh I agree, I was pretty dumb on bitcoin 5 years ago still holding it on an exchange and messing with shitcoins and the most dangerous part was that I was thinking I knew what i was doing, reading half-baked research and not understanding how they obfuscate certain issues.

Eventually, i learned and still learned but I always think that eventually comes a flippening, where something becomes common knowledge merely by association like there was a time when people didn't use chat apps, they had sms and calls, only kids and teenagers used it, those kids, teens grew up and it became the norm and the boomers just fell in because it was a cheaper SMS replacement

Most people don't know how or why chat apps work, and how broadband became cheaper they just see others benefit from it, I was thinking bitcoin would be the same, every few will actually bother to understand it they just understand the benefit

It will eventually, but getting to that stage by our best estimate will be at least another 10+ years for full integration and "default knowledge" as you described it.

Thing is, even then, you still have new people being born year after year. They'll fall into the same traps over and over unless they have parents / schools etc to guide them properly.

That's why we started Athena Alpha, named after Athena the Greek Goddess of wisdom and protectress of cities, to create a source of education that isn't from shitcoin pushing exchanges and that guides new people with security and privacy in mind. Not sure if we'll ever outshine the Coinbases or MSM... but the more of us that try the better!
