Just watched a new course for dev hiring process, as the only white person on my dev team my takeaways are:
✅ all white people are the same regardless of background
❌ hiring whites (especially males)

Care to give more context? As a white future (current?) dev, this troubles me.
Troubles me as well for interviewing if they aren’t looking for actual skills. One instance was showing two whites clearly from completely different backgrounds and then proceed to say they are the same category based on looks only and decide not to hire. You wouldn’t be able to do the video for any other race
It’s all just virtue signalling. If they care about your race or gender they’re not worth working for. I don’t get why they just don’t focus on experience and PoW?
