It's much more ergonomic imo, and helps with impersonation a little bit.

I wonder if that’s true. I hardly know anyone’s nip5. I do like the β€œfollowing” label but the way clients implement it now is not very clear.

I know Jack's NIP05 will be cashapp or block domain as an example, he's got a lot of impersonators that get retweeted all the time

Verification is a very wrong word for it though. Human readable handle or DNS handle seems better to me.

It's a good way to find someone. We changed the name by consensus a few months ago to "nostr address". It could be compared to email or DNS servers, they are expendable but more convenient for the end user.
