another Blogspot:

'This blog is about music that lies in cellars, dug out by a group of people who care about great music. We share this music for free as a labor of love and because we want to share forgotten tunes of the past..'

Googling stuff and adding +blogspot or + some filesharing host site name was a thing for 'obscure media' music, films, ebooks.

Will +nostr be a similar thing? 🤔

Just an ide lolol

Wait, nostr doesn't even turn up in Google searches does it? #asknostr

you mean Nostr notes? They won't - google cannot index them unless they learn to talk to relays.

i seeee hmm

#thicchain

Look I know I'm dumb, but can someone explain to me why nostr notes can turn up in a Google search lol? #asknostr

Also say you linked to a YouTube video on nostr and people watched it here. How would that show up on the YouTube account's analytics? Where would it say it came from? 🤔 Would it come how link it to amethyst 🤔?

I'm exposing how thick I am more and more 🥰🫂😭

* can't lol

Why they can't turn up in Google searches lol

They can't turn up because google doesn't index relay notes (like nostr.band) - to do so you'd need to query relays for all the events and then store them.

A web2.0 search typically indexes hyperlinks and the links those are attached to (if a site has lits of connections to it, its assumed to be higher)

This is different because nostr events typically don't have a unique URL assigned to it like other websites.

At least thats my sky high understanding of it.

That all sounds believable. You definitely know more than me. I know fuck all :)

So... Nostr notes can never appear in Google searches. Like it's impossible? 🤔

At least until they incorporate that process ("relays, plz give me firehouse of events", saves events, ranks them in a way that is compatible with their regular ranking -> now its part of Google's index).

Another option would be if a website links their content to a specific event and then leaves that available for google to index through their web crawlers. Kinda like a bridge, or however Xitter implements it.

I e told the developers I they need to do this. Make nostr actually useful like how reddit pops up in Google.

They're fucking lazy asses dude. They aren't gunna do shit.

NOSTR is a fucking gimmick. They're using it like a pyramid scheme sucking Jack for his money.

This is all a scam in my opinion.

And if it's not?

Then I challenge ALL of you dumb fuck #developers to prove me wrong right fucking now in this post.

They won't. They're all full of shit

I believe they’ve found a way to the fediverse/mostr bridge to gain more traction via Alex Gleeson.

Yea my nigga Gleason right there. Should have mentioned him. That was huge in my opinion and the other developers should be thanking him. Gleason is my favorite. He coo as far as I'm concerned

Learn to code asshole

Kagi making it easy to search for Nostr content like they did very recently for Usenet content can be accomplished if people push for it.

Might submit feedback to them pertaining to that.

hang on tweets arent showing on google either unless you log in right? same as instagram posts if you make it private. i dont mind my nostr notes not showing up on google. im staying on jacks pyramid scheme lol

fair enough

I think of this as feature

Yes, but we need to build the #GoogleSTR!

Decentralisation is hard. Using LLMs to retrieve revelant results is almost a hard requirement, but that doesn't scale without massive caching of queries and results.

tbh I am clueless, I thought there was no real reason why nostr couldn't show up on google:)
