Yeah dunno who their target is? Rich bitcoiners who can't be bothered to install their own ssd and os?
None of my friends will or can afford to spend time to learn about building their own homeserver, but most of them see the benefit of controlling their own data. These solutions will definitely help people to adopt this stuff. Doesn’t mean I agree that it’s pretty expensive.

I guess, I dunno I’m jaded. my immediate circle have told me on more than one occasion that “yeah I know I have no privacy I’ve accepted it”
Yeah until they touch the stove.. I just don’t bother anymore.
Same with bitcoin.. most friends rather lose buying power at 15% year over year than buying 10 dollars a month worth of bitcoin. Craziest argument for not buying bitcoin I heard was that you should not make money with money.. We will hear back from them in about a year I expect.
I've repeated the inflation/destruction of purchasing power argument ad nauseam with all my friends and family, and not one of them has bought BTC.
They say I can't be right because "it fell by 70%", so even if they understand the implications of infinite printing (which most just don't, to begin with) they say BTC can't be trusted.
