He also spent over a decade trying to prove the Bible based on numerology and predicted the end times would hit in 2012. He was the Luke dash jr of his time. Super smart but a fucking amazingly naive weirdo.

Not true.
Please point me to the source where he predicts 2012 to be the beginning of end times. As you staged above. Your link shows a list of 83 texts. Do I need to read them all?
Sorry may have got my end times nuttery mixed up, it’s been a minutes since I was in those texts. Newton “calculated” 2060, in his 1733 “Observations Upon the Prophesies of Daniel” so we still have time to get right with god.
The main point still stands. Religious nuttery is a waste of time and we are all poorer for it when one of the greatest minds in history spends more of his life chasing after delusions than in the pursuit of scientific and mathematics discovery.
Agree with everything in your last post. 👍

Liar
Huh? It’s widely known that newton spent more time on biblical study than on scientific inquiry. Which goes to show that even our smartest humans can be a little retarded.
Imagine a world where newtons brain wasn’t a little broken and he didn’t waste so much of his time on earth trying to uncover hidden meaning in the Bible.
Look at all his religious writing https://www.newtonproject.ox.ac.uk/texts/newtons-works/religious
It was a Luke Dash Jr reference.
Sorry, just remembering all the religious nonsense in the early days of bitcoin centered around Dash and how his mining pool was spamming the chain with catholic prayers ( ironic I know considering his current stance on spam).
As prolific of a coder that he is, his religious beliefs are off putting and the time and energy he spends being a catholic fascist have probably come at the expense of the development of Bitcoin (his extremism certainly turned off people from the project) just as Newton’s religious obsessions surely cost us some scientific progress.
