I have developed such an awful aversion towards the word "crypto". I can't help but cringe when I hear it.
Is there any strategy you guys use to gracefully differentiate bitcoin from crypto without sounding cultish or being misunderstood?
I need an elegant way to tell my no-coiner friends why they should avoid everything but bitcoin.
Send them charts of other cryptos denominated in bitcoin?
If they're at all receptive to talking about it, I just let them know that "crypto" is a rebranding of "altcoins". It was a way to steal credibility by putting "bitcoin" and "altcoins" in the same category, when they never were in the first place.
I use the below for quick virtual comms with strangers.
But I also need a better method when there is more allotted time with friends face2face 🤔 Maybe I would curate it depending on the friend, trying to relate to their industry, interests, or perhaps societal/political frustrations.
