And BTW, Telegram is not Chinese. It was founded by 2 Russians, and it's headquarters are in Dubai. Does that make me a communist for using it for generally uncensored closed communities? Are they going to steal my gifs and recipes, or some publicly posted photos?

No even your article says the concern with Telegram was Russia, and they were the exception because their main focus in the ban was China.
I've seen absolutely zero credible evidence showing they share data with Russia or China, but if they do

Either way, I know companies sell my data. Most do. I also put my own content out on the internet publicly. I am not hiding. But I also know what not to put where, and how to keep what needs to be private, private. I'm not going to throw all of my electronics away and live in the mountains because the boogeyman is watching me.
