I once spent an hour talking to an engineer from Martin about the types of glues they use and how they source their wood. Glad to know they are bitcoiners. Makes sense as they value excellence in engineering.

Makes me wonder if guitars have improved over the past 20 years. Do they stay tuned longer? Do they have low action without fret buzz? How bright are different strings? Do pickups have a USB interface?

I can tell you that the high end audio guys are always chasing perfection in one for or another, but it’s all about sound and not anything else.

Yes and no.. Def design improvements over time, but I think the need to source more sustainable wood has driven quality down in the affordable price ranges. I have a 1965 Gibson LG-0 acoustic which was an entry level model at the time… it’s all mahogany, neck, sides, top.

Now they did go cheap on the lg-0 bridge with a plastic one, so I had to do some work to bring it back to life 😄 but well worth it

Depends on the overall quality of the guitar, the setup and hardware. I have a Ciari Ascender I take with me everywhere(it folds up and fits in a backpack). Really nice guitar, plays awesome. Check it out, pretty cool.
