Interesting take right there. I think the problem society has is this left/right paradigm which is a construct designed to keep people distracted by fighting each other instead of dealing with a wicked system. The real continuum is freedom/serfdom. There are some aspects of freedom that some on the “left” understood and spoke out against but the problem was their solution was big gvt. The same goes for the right, and their wrong solution was corporatism disguised as free market capitalism. In both instances people ended up with less freedom not more. We don’t have to fall in the same trap today

This is precise.

I remember the early 2000s and being suitably outraged by the right wing politic of that time. Using the illusion of 'free market economics' to further quite egregious variations of crony capitalism - all wrapped up in a healthy dosage of 'patriotism' to wash it all down. Common sense lived somewhere mildly left of center.

25 years later that pendulum has swung entirely to opposite spectrum.

I agree the door is now open to step away but very few are showing that bravery.
