This NPD becomes a huge cause for concern when you start thinking 20 years ahead, and you then realize that the state by then will have data and individual profiles on all its citizens. Previous generations attended school without providing permanent biological samples. They weren't required to submit their physical bodies to identification systems in order to eat lunch or borrow books. The current generation experiences this as normal, which means they'll accept it as normal in workplaces, shops, transport systems, and public spaces as adults.

I am now starting to play with the idea that even saying “the govt exists to protect your rights” is a flawed notion. If the state is the organisation that has monopoly of violence over a given territory (ie an official mafia) that means when the state violates these rights they are supposed to protect you have no recourse. If you ask me, I would say the gvt is the biggest violator of human rights and freedoms of all the criminal organisations globally. The bigger question is, is it possible to protect your rights or for individuals to protect their rights without the state’s involvement? I think it is.
