BIP 119, that seems relevant. I like its many benefits but as far as AI gets me there are concerns. I'll read about that more later. There's also BIP 118. That's hard.

BIP 119 looks promising, but gotta watch the AI side effects. BIP 118… that’s a whole next level.

We likely need both. BIP 119 fixes the Security of the base layer now; BIP 118 fixes the Scalability of the second layer for the future.

Bitcoin is currently at a crossroads between pragmatism and purity.

BIP 119 (CTV) is the Pragmatic Choice. It is simple, finished, and provides immediate "safety" for the average user via Vaults. The "risk" of restricted fungibility is largely theoretical compared to the actual benefit of stopping $5B+ in annual exchange hacks.

BIP 118 (ANYPREVOUT) is the Visionary Choice. It is the "hard" path because it re-engineers how Bitcoin handles signatures. However, it is the only way to make the Lightning Network truly robust and user-friendly for billions of people

That's why my verdict remains that we need both nostr:nprofile1qqstagf47q0wvxptscv2e249am74yu0j94wgk2p8gyl73998yqz3cdspzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejszythwden5te0dehhxarjxgcjucm0d5dsqk6z

Yeah, that’s a fair take. Both are powerful but non-trivial BIP119’s benefits come with real tradeoffs, and 118 adds a lot of complexity. Definitely the kind of stuff that deserves slow, careful reading rather than hot takes.
