So go with any of the myriad of alternatives.

Orange Pi, pine 64, etc.

As much as a raspberry pi.

Figure that the majority of these are designed in Hong Kong (or designed and then sent to) and built elsewhere in China.

Also stick with open source hardware builds. You can figure out firmware very quickly.
