I’m cool with getting rich. Totally fine with having more resources to allocate as I see fit. Truly believe I am a better capital allocator than the government or even most rich individuals. I see no virtue in having fewer resources to allocate, leaving more allocation up to others. I didn’t always feel this way, but I am confident in this belief now. I also realize not everyone feels this way, not even everyone who professes to. Many have been indoctrinated subtly or otherwise to believe wealth is evil. There is nothing wrong with thinking that, and there’s nothing wrong with being poor. But those who do think that will almost surely stay poor.

Wealth is fine, excess capital that you have no use for is close to evil.

capital you earned by honest means has no such karma attached to it

just because you have kept your spending under your earning for long enough to earn a very large amount doesn't mean you are a bad person, in fact it kinda means the opposite

having a purpose for it presumes the having of it in the first place, so don't get the horse behind the carriage, it belongs in front

my endless disagreement with the typical socialist leaning person is always about this

sure, most of the hyper-wealthy are scum

but the moderately wealthy, a lot of them actually got it honestly

accusing the wealth when the crime is the problem is ridiculous, please, think, think

money earned honestly in good trades that were regarded as such by both parties CANNOT be bad or evil

otherwise you are saying trying to earn any money at all is evil

like you are evil if you aren't scraping the bottom of the barrel, eating out of trashcans and sleeping under the bridge

come on, don't mistake the means for the end

i will literally stop talking to you if you don't step off on this "having excess money is a sin" bullshit

Invest it in your society.
