I think we’re going to increasingly see people hand over decisions to their AI. I’m not sure it’s good, but it seems like it’s inevitable.

Those people will be the new midwit class

most people don't think anyway so maybe things will actually improve

Natural selection in the artificial world. A great filter for stupidity.

People who make that decision shouldn't be making decisions. So maybe that's a good thing.

Smart people will increasingly make decisions for others by proxy.

AI as an interface to your rulers. Same same but different.

Well, it’s been trained to parrot content from sources like cookbooks, self-help, health & fitness, fashion, and family & relationships. So, all things considered, it’ll probably make slightly better decisions than horoscopes, fortune tellers, or a Magic 8-Ball.

If as a human, one is willing to hand over major decisions of their life to “artificial intelligence”, then that person’s intelligence isn’t that great.

The old folks would say, “not the sharpest tool in the shed” and “not the brightest bulb”.

The use of AI can be helpful at times. However, using it for major decisions on a daily basis appears to be intellectually lazy.

What happened to “thinking for yourself“?

"I think we’re going to increasingly see people hand over decisions to their AI."

Probably. For the same reasons we've seen them hand over their decision-making to alohohol, slot machines, opioids, and corporate social media. Desperately stressed people struggle to make good decisions.

Have had extended periods of being desperately stressed. Can confirm ;-)
