I recently heard nostr:npub1rtlqca8r6auyaw5n5h3l5422dm4sry5dzfee4696fqe8s6qgudks7djtfs mention that the pandemic transformed him, altering the lens through which he views the world and its people. He said he could never unsee this shift, and I deeply related to his words.

Interestingly, I feel a similar way about my first on-chain Bitcoin transaction, and that epiphany was more profound with the Lightning Network. The legacy financial system is doomed; it has been out-innovated without even realizing it. Our new permissionless system is superior, and though still in its infancy, this is something I can never unsee.

I plan to but to be completely honest, I'm still wrapping my head around it.

It does seem to be the logical progression.

Yep. I am calling it my Coinpernican Revolution. (Bitcoin, not shitcoin)

Right On brother!!

Agreed. Once the first purchase is completed it becomes a joy to look for places that will engage with the soon to be new standard. Everything else is dusty.

I’m in the same place. A newby, I wrote in my agenda last week ’today is the day that I realised that I can make BPAY payments (Australian payment system for utilities) from my Bitcoin exchange’. Mind blown, I moved everything from my bank ac to Bitcoin. I can pay gas, power, rates, car registration everything from Bitcoin. I had no idea. Fiat is over, this is a new day. Thank you to all the techs who have patiently built this. Humanity is amazing

Yes!

When I want to donate to an open source app that I like, if it does not accept Bitcoin I don't even bother to donate...

Too much of an hassle to donate via other options, not to mention the lack of privacy when donating via the legacy system.

💯
