Attention economy generally is mental masturbation

I’m an Aust mental health practitioner. If you seek mainstream advice, you will be given 101 reasons why it’s all your fault and nothing to do with broken gov/systems/corruption/late stage capitalism. Maybe it’s a trauma story of avoidance/childhood messiness whatever, but if you want to live better, go hard on reading, learning, YouTube, podcasts. Start with Gabor Mate. Learn about addiction, neurobiology, behavioural repatterning. Do online courses on therapies, acceptance and commitment therapy, family systems therapy, schema therapy, Intergenerational therapy. Do a guided psilocybin assisted therapy ( not just a trip). Get off on Jung for a while, go hard on complex PTSD ( if you have childhood stuff). Be your own therapist, but please, please, please don’t self diagnose- it’s a trap. If you still have issues, message me. Bitcoin accepted here 🧔

Years ago, when my ex and I were discussing some things after we broke up, he said to me, ā€œI’m sorry I have been critical of your emotions. I realized that it was uncomfortable for me to see you in your emotions and pain so I tried to make you wrong for it so I didn’t have to feel my own shit.ā€

Me being ā€œfragileā€ was a consistent pattern in our relationship. Now, I am so clear that that was a reflection of my own beliefs playing out in him. But hearing him say that really clicked something in.

When you start to see the bigger picture of what is playing out, it begins to shift the whole dance.

Because when we don’t have language for what is happening, it’s very difficult to have a relationship to it.

Having language for a sensational experience and relational dynamic creates an opportunity to separate ourselves from it.

And with that, (combined with deeper capacity work) comes agency.

I see so many couples where there is this gap where they cannot meet each other. Like a black foggy hole between them they keep circling but cannot meet in.

One of my gifts is that I can see the meeting point. The very spot of truth that, if acknowledged, would create more energy and movement between them.

I used to see this with my parents and it would frustrate the shit out of me. Many times I would inappropriately jump in to translate for them in order to soothe my own sensation. But now, I use this gift to illuminate things for men and women so they can see and feel the dynamic that is operating more clearly.

One of the things I am doing with this REUNION series, is giving language and a practice field for specific relational areas that often give us challenges. Not so things can be fixed, but so you can have more literacy of what’s happening and therefore the ability to relate to it differently.

Witnessing is one of those areas I see an opportunity for. It has the power to really transform connection and the individuals involved.

To witness is to take your hand off the wheel of control.

It is to stay on your mark and let someone fully be as they are.

It is to trust.

Next week’s workshop is going to go deep into Witnessing, for both men and women. I’m opening it up as a standalone workshop.

If this is resonating with you, and you want a frame for you and your man or woman to work with in those stickier spots, I’d love to have you both there.

It’s on Tuesday November 25th at 3pm EST.

$99 per person and there is a recording.

DM me for the link.

Singles are welcome as well of course.

Great work

I listened to an amazing podcast recently that blew my mind with this perspective. Josh Schrei on The Emerald podcast compared the many Indian gods as being a vastly more contextual way of ā€˜doing’ mindfulness than our western clinical practices. They honour their ā€˜hungry gods’ with offerings to maintain balance. The neurobiological shifts that occur when we take physical action to change our emotional or thought patterns is key. This guy sums this up beautifully

My problems with Deutsche are his Zionist views on Palestine which follow the collapse being necessary for renewal process. I view progress not as progress for some, others being collateral damage, which is a process repeated often historically. Progress at this point feels like it is freedom to co-create. ā€˜Explanations’ can feel like the winners writing history. Explanations can hide motivations. Heartfelt reasons also hold validity, part of the beauty of being human. Deutsche needs a psilocybin trip or at least to read Iain McGilchrist in my humble opinion.

Not wise. Better to focus on your craft and build value. Step away from the fiat fire my friend. That’s my 2 sats worth

A Nostr client that gives more structure for our free decentralized projects?! This is what has been in my mind for a while now. I saw ways to show clients, but there is something essentially missing at this stage of something like Nostr. At least thats what I think. I never was in a global community fighting the fiatworld and pushing something almost evolutionary.

Since we, as a community, have a protocol and lots of work to do, in any way, and no company that gives us roles or tasks, we have to organize ourselves, organically and freely.

So I'm working on a client where you can add Projects and its Milestones + Goals to your profile, for others to discover. My first intention was making it for nostr apps, but it can be useful for other stuff like meetups or group projects, whatever projects people are ready to share openly.

(My progress on building going slow right now as my freetime will be pretty limited for a while.) Check out the video to see my sample client.

What I'm into is that: You as a person and you as an organization could be represented on a worldwide, freedom- and decentralization-focused projects interface, by that. Share your progress, be visible. We are in our communities and enrich the global world, sharing stuff to encourage and support each other. We choose great ideas and efficiency for all, over money making slavery machines.

So would you be ready to share some information about whats going on in your serious projects in a structured and especially discoverable way? The open source way?

If tomorrow's world wants to be more transparent, this could be some kind of way to support that.

Would you add your Projects and Milestones + Goals to this page? Or something similar?

Will this help to connect each other better?

Perhaps only if we see it as a valuable thing.

In the first place, I just want to give a new perspective into the community. I can only vibecode a little, for now.

I very much like the idea that Nostr isn’t revolutionary but evolutionary. Something very satisfying in leaving the divisional pattern of revolution after revolution behind us for something more, something new., something built and shared and exploratory

Before Dark. Going beyond its words, it somehow leaves an imprint of captured delight, a reverence that outlasts the moment. My fave

I have finally been around the sun enough times and studied neurobiology and intergenerational trauma integration and growth enough to have finally realised that all those rituals in other more traditional cultures about honouring the ancestors, yeah well, kinda makes good sense. So, to structure our thinking by reflecting on their experiences, to show some gratitude and to make sense of our own behavioural patterns by respecting theirs really works. That’s a complicated way of saying, dead or alive, you can just visit your grandparents and be curious about them and theirs

Reading an amazing book by Silvia Federici ā€˜Caliban and the Witch’, that looks at the shift from the feudal system to capitalism. The political motivations of removing the commons, whipping up terror and division through the torture and murder of thousands of women in the witch hunts, all occurred at the same time that the slave trade was being implemented. Turns out slavery and removing women from paid labour made some people rather wealthy

It’s not unfair my friend, it’s an opportunity. You have the choice to master it, and conserve your psychological energy for more important matters

Merde, I meant secure hardware wallet. I actually even know the difference. Brain burp cluttering up the landscape 🫢

I’m after a link to an explanation of why a cold card node is important. Could someone please head me in the right direction

Imagine when thinking independently and living by principle are no longer energy draining, required forms of resistance. Imagine our world when this is our daily expectation. What will we be doing? What will our personal and collective projects be? How will we honour and value ourselves and each other? How will we nurture each other, care for our young and elderly? What will systems of self sovereignty look like? The time is now

Read all the religious texts, folklore, philosophy and study art history

Same goes for mothers. They create humanity, and are the origin of every advance that sustains and improves human life.

The health of society is directly proportional to the respect of mothering and the dignity of the reproduction of human life. Without a collective respect for motherhood, humanity grinds to a halt.

Australia is rolling this out for all social media including YouTube in December. I suppose having a VPN will fix it but reading books again doesn’t seem like such a bad option either
