Call it a cursed marriage, but #Fedora #Linux 38 runs ridiculously well on the #Microsoft #Surface Pro 8.
I'm not gonna lie, I didn't think it would. Even the touchscreen works.

Even the touchscreen? 😳
I have to try it out
Be sure to check out this repo, where they patch the kernel with drivers. Kept very up to date, well funded.
Thank you!
Good to know. I have a Lenovo touchscreen that worked on #mint but doesn't currently work with silverblue. Been meaning to switch it to standard #fedora like the rest of my computers.
There was some special work to get it running with Fedora as well.
I used the patched kernel here:
https://github.com/linux-surface/linux-surface
I'm not sure how applicable that will be to a Lenovo, but perhaps it will be a starting point.
Good Luck! ☘
Honestly, it'll probably just work when I install regular fedora. Silverblue seems to have random issues with the odd kernel module. Could never get displaylink to work on silverblue either because the immutable os didn't play well with proprietary modules installed from 3rd party downloads.
