I need to be able to chose what media upload site I send stuff to in Damus.
The ease of pressing that lil button is now sending my stuff elsewhere. (I would also love to be able to save media links in Damus and build myself a library of links. #[13]
Saving links to a library should be standard in all clients, would reduce the amount of stuff being sent to media host. Is there a NIP for it? A library of media links available in every client you use, on any device)

I got in touch, but so far it's not in their plans, I'm trying to make at least one PR to allow (public) uploads. I have the API ready to support what you say (personal galleries in the clients) but so far no luck.

I tried to find a consensus with nostrbuild but they replied that they can't deal with this right now. 🥲

Not going to lie, going decentralized for then storing media on AWS servers doesn’t taste right. There must be good ways of tackling decentralized storage while rewarding participants that do not involve tokens (a la AR) and could work with LN and Nostr in mind…
In other words, have the media in Nostr instead of legacy web, maybe using a special class of relays, media relays more heavy duty stuff. Is something like this being discussed?
Yes, it is being discussed, there are several nip proposals to try to solve it, some of them look very good!
