ah. I think you need a Microsoft Account for ads. I use Local Login. The de-bloating tools make it a better desktop experience than Linux in the end. The shell is slow and shitty compared to Linux/mac but I don't need to use it much. Usually just use it to ssh into Linux servers.

By desktop experience people usually mean gaymes and video editing. Desktop Linux sucks for media editing, design, and CAD.

Ssh works on a phone, no need for a desktop.

For a bigger screen I'd get a tablet. No reason for that aside from Krita (restricted to bigger screens only).

No reason for a big screen just for ssh and 80 char lines.

I run win11 in a vm. It has gotten better ngl, but mainly because I feel like they copied a lot of UI from macOS/Ubuntu 😅

It works for them lol.

The crippling of gnome and wayland/x11 migration fiasco set the linux desktop back a bit.
