I got really excited to apply to be a pattern tester for a dress very similar to one living in my brain until I got to the bottom and see that I no longer qualify because I don't have corporate social media anymore. Yeah, I guess it's just free advertising and not actually testing like it used to be.

pattern testing is so whack now. have you looked at some of the "requirements?" you have to finish by a ridiculously short deadline. if you don't, you have to pay for the pattern. you have to post editorial style pictures to your social media. some designers even specify how many photo angles and how often. and guess what? the most important "requirement" of give feedback on the pattern is usually way way way at the bottom and barely there.

it's a joke now. sorry, I could rant about this for ages. it's particularly bad in knitting communities.
