"I'm not here despite being a trans woman; it's because I am a trans woman." – Hundreds of people, including activists from the 'Queers for Palestine' group, held a pro-Palestinian protest in Union Square, New York, on Sunday to express their opposition to Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza and to call for a ceasefire. Activists chanted "Free Palestine" and "We saw no to genocide" while carrying placards reading "Not in our names, Trans Jews for a free Palestine," "We will outlive you genocide Joe" and "Ceasefire now."

Since the start of Israel's attacks on Gaza on October 7, Queers for Palestine has organized several actions across the US. These have included a protest outside the office of Democratic Congressman Jimmy Gomez in Los Angeles and a rally alongside the American Indian Movement also in LA.
