Ok, what’s your biggest fear regarding #Bitcoin?

Like…if it fails (whatever that means to you), why?

It's not going to fail. Just won't be adopted the way we assume.

Thats a risky but likely outcome.

Humans can screw up everything 🥴

I see it surviving as an alternative to traditional money. Mostly for transactions instead of stored value.

I fear the opposite path. New digital gold, mostly custodial, leveraged, intermediated and centralized by the tradfi. It'what is happening recently.

CMEs. Large solar events. I guess that fear extends much farther than bitcoin. But yeah, our sats would certainly be useless. But then again we’d have much bigger problems.

I don't see a world where Bitcoin is needed and it dies. So it needs to not be needed.

The only way to make Bitcoin not needed is for the world's problems to be solved. I don't mind living in that world either.

But if we want to talk a realistic black swan event, even if it can't realistically turn into an actual threat to the protocol, is the centralisation of ASIC manufacturing. That being misused can make things bleak for a while.

1. centralization of mining pools (see Ocean for more details)

2. soft-forking some bullshit (like covenants) into the protocol that can be exploited or has unintended consequences.

These are, in my opinion, the 2 biggest threats to bitcoin.

collectivism

I don't fear anything. I'm 100% sure #Bitcoin outlive me. And it's okay.

No more Bitcoin meet-ups.
