There is a massive difference between choosing to follow Christ and being a “Christian”. The only people who have a hard time understanding the distinction are the ones who get all their faith from other folks work.

Just cause you grew up going to church and do all the things “good Christians” should doesn’t guarantee your place in heaven and it damn sure doesn’t give you the right to condemn others to hell or any place else.

Fearing the Lord, following Jesus, and keeping a pure heart comes from a daily decision to kill your ego or pride and become a servant… like Jesus.

It means understanding that earthly riches are meaningless when the true reward is in heaven. It’s about loving others and sacrifice. It’s about reading scripture for yourself, meditating on it so that it helps your heart discern. It’s about growing under God’s perfect grace.

I get so aggravated with “Christians” that wield self-righteousness as a weapon against sinners. Really shows their ignorance and lack of wisdom. It’s actually funny because Jesus didn’t come to the healed he appeared to the sick, broken, and destitute. The very ones the people who were supposed to know God outcasted.

Zapped

I discovered Kristene Di Marco's album 'The Field' recently and am finding it quite searching. In terms of coming back to read the gospels with humility.

12 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’[a] For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Matthew 9:12-13

He is the greatest sacrifice. He saved this world of sinners. I’m so grateful!! 🥰🥰🥰💫

So ... You are a Christian.... You "just don't like labels"...

A got news for ya, a follower of Jesus would be the definition of Christian.

It’s not about a label.

A follower of Jesus is a disciple. They spread the gospel, minister to others, and devote themselves to humbly teaching about forgiveness and salvation. They are not perfect people.

Christianity is a religion that describes people who subscribe to religious texts, practices, and doctrine NFT’s out of the Council of Nicaea spread by Charlemagne and his familial legacies. In fact, I’ll even argue that Christianity is an umbrella term that delineates virtues political strategists can utilize to manipulate the masses.

Discipleship isn’t a label. It’s a lifestyle. Scripture warns us to be careful about the identifiers we use… when Jesus delivered Paul he freed him of the labels that his society gave him. Then told him to minister and witness. Which he did. Things changed when governments got involved … which happened before Europe touched West.

I understand that it may seem Im arguing your point… but I’m not. If I were then people who are genuinely good get lumped in with criminals.

I really love Jesus. Doing that in 2023 looks way different than it did before the world knew what a pope was. If I really believe in his teachings then I have to separate myself from the fake… so people seeking truth can find a light.

Disciples of "Christ" are... Christians. But I know what you're saying. I don't like religion either.

That is so true!
