My issue is the presumption that one can make a dedicated sovereign state for a religious belief to solve some other states issues, and that somehow people following that have some entitlement to it to the detriment of others living there.

Sovereign states will come and go, and to that end Israel is just one of many in transition. Does Israel have a right to defend itself? Sure. Do Jews? Absolutely. But they also need to take some responsibility for their own actions and quit with the victim mentality and press on.

In the end, the region will just eat itself from within. And those with semblence of humanity will leave it to its own destruction.
