despite the dismay, tiktok nostr client would onboard a lot of people!

just would be complicated. it’s such a deeply centralized, algorithmic based platform. more than all the other platforms tbh. it’s hard to think of how a decentralized version would work.

I personally don’t like TikTok and their algorithms much but I do think a video content focused client would appeal to a lot of people and is something that Nostr is missing. I think one of the biggest challenges is the infrastructure and bandwidth requirements to support video distribution without advertising or some other way of funding it.

i mean tiktok started out as an app that people would just lip sync to music. it diversified by its self

id rather nostr copy vine instead of tiktok, 30seconds vids are less time consuming and less bandwith

I think I’d prefer bitcoin videos than the videos the TikTok algorithm recommends for me! 🤣 But I agree, we need a wider range of content and maybe some sort of simple algorithm could help in this case to recommend videos based on what you watch.
