Even in the US, we ask for permissive freedoms and thus aren't truly free. As you said, real freedom is not what the government bestows upon us.
Every so called "country" is the same way! The differences is only whether they simply rob you, or rob you and also rape and beat you!
"Free country" is an oxymoron, that always deserves the famous alien:😀
