Do you have specific block-triggers? I have a whole set of unwritten rules around the instant block… I should just automate it at this point. 😄

My zero tolerance policy includes anyone in my replies who is:

-Using the phrase “you people”

-Calling me “little girl”

-Insulting my intelligence

-Demanding anything of me

That last one is so real. 😅 Somebody will be like “Talk louder” and I’ll just block em. 🤣 Ain’t nobody got time for strangers on the internet who think they can talk to anybody any old way.

Bots, mostly.

If over time I generally dislike someone's notes I'll mute them. Not people who insult me though, they're too interesting.

Saying GFY is more fun than muting. Getting triggered is weak.

Lol acting like you’re not triggerable is just dishonest. Everyone gets triggered. I didn’t put GFY on the list but then again I don’t get that a lot. People who insult me are usually not interesting at all. I will go to their page to see if they’re just having a bad day, but typically there’s no content there. Now, I can appreciate a true troll who uses sarcasm and makes me laugh, but they don’t have to resort to petty insults. In todays example, some rando lady said “you people should move to mars” and I was like: clearly you’re annoyed, how bout I do ya a favor and just disappear? 🫥🤣 byyyye random lady!

There was one npub I wanted to check was a bot so I just threw non-sequiturs and lo and behold, it was a bot. We then got two bots to respond to each other. 😂

I think there are a lot of these people, but i've come to realise that people who can't differentiate between personal attacks vs discussing a topic, and succumb towards putting you down is often a reflection of them, their insecurity, their need for attention, their lack of knowledge, lack of social skills, no manners and absolute lack of emotional intelligence. I tell myself I have this one precious life - do I want to entertain noise and drama and negativity ? Maybe not lol. Doesn't mean its not a put down, or I am not upset by it - but i think i am just going to continually strengthen the mental blockage. You can't grow if you are focused on everything and everyone else that's bringing you down

Yep this is truth. And I have heard some “influencers” say that these kind of haters should be engaged or at the least just ignored because it makes for good engagement stats when there’s drama in the comments, but I absolutely am not all about that life. I treat social media a lot like I treat socializing in real life. I wouldn’t walk up to a woman and say “shave your mustache” in real life so I absolutely will not hesitate to block someone who approaches me like that online. Lol. Yes that’s a real quote 🤣

In my case, started on Instagram, people making fun of my accent, it got so bad that when I started sharing recipes on Tiktok I didn't want to talk at all.

I don't know why it bother me so much having to block people. Nowadays I do ot with out thinking much abou it. Not before reminding the person, that the US doesn't have an official language and if I've a weird accent is because I am multilingual.

Yes I also get comments on my accent, but it’s usually “talk faster you ignorant redneck” (for the record I’m not a redneck, I’m a hillbilly lol). Instant-block on those folks and I am not even sorry. 😅 but I don’t let it upset me. I just block and move on.
