Sharing is caring...

In 2024, I orange pilled friends, family and random acquaintances from Switzerland, Serbia, Italy and France by giving ca. 0.03 BTC (ain't much but from honest work).

Just talking about Bitcoin had a small impact in changing any misconceptions. Giving Bitcoin had definitely a bigger one.

75% of giveaway was per Wallet of Satoshi. In 10min, install app, receive sats and see the balance on your phone in preferred currency got most of the "wows".

20% per Aqua. Was more challenging. Explaining the concept of different Layer 2s needs more time. But having a "savings account" (on mainnet) is the pitch.

5% per Jade and sparrow wallet. I gave 3 Jades to more tech savy folks and had hours of fun installing and securing the systems, while talking much deeper about Bitcoin.

Facit: folks heard of Bitcoin, but were either very sceptical or into shitcoinery...

The hardest part was to convince that shitcoinery is just a scam, coz 10000% profits on some shitcoins are tempting.

To convince to DCA in Bitcoin and have a low time preference was the easiest on those who just heard about bitcoin.

People are fascinating more about the price than the freedom Bitcoin may provide. Maybe one day this will change.

Greed brings everyone to the altar. NGU is the first thing that attracted most of us to Bitcoin initially. Its only after the hard intellectual work is done that you realize what you were really seeking.

I like giving away sats as well and typically have folks download Strike to start. It makes small DCA’s easy. Agreed that the Jade is a good starter for those who have some technical interest. Showing them a transaction clearing the mempool was a big eyeopener for those who were seeking transparency in finance.

I had gotten to the point where I stopped evangelizing Bitcoin to family and friends because at times it’s very frustrating. Rethinking that for 2025…. Keep up the great work!
