I would love it if capes made a come back , I see no reason why they shouldn't they are really handy.

Walking around in a woolen cape in the rain (for a short amount of time before you reach saturation ) is actually quite nice , you can't even hear the rain hitting the material .

I have a heavy woolen cape. Then a vintage black velvet cape, the hood is trimmed in rabbit fur that I’ve used for formal occasions. It’s easier to keep your arms warm in a coat than when wearing a cape. Probably why they went out of fashion. Production methods also improved allowing making fitted coats easier.
